HNB PLC has raised the bar for digital trade services in Sri Lanka with the launch of TxB TradeX, its next-generation Digital Trade Finance platform, developed in partnership with IFINITY Global (Pvt) Ltd.
An advanced enhancement of HNB’s existing TxB suite, TradeX delivers a secure, streamlined digital interface covering the entire spectrum of Trade Finance operations. This includes Letters of Credit, Shipping Guarantees, import/export bill processing, SLPA payments, and ASYCUDA settlements. By digitizing trade documentation and approval workflows, the platform significantly boosts speed, visibility, and efficiency throughout the trade finance lifecycle.
Speaking at the official launch, HNB Managing Director and CEO Damith Pallewatte highlighted the potential of digitalization to fuel Sri Lanka’s economic growth. “Currently, the digital economy contributes less than 5% to our GDP. This underscores both the gap and the incredible opportunity for digital adoption,” he said.
“TxB TradeX represents HNB’s commitment to seizing this opportunity. By fully digitizing trade finance, we’re tackling bottlenecks that hinder Sri Lankan businesses from engaging seamlessly with global markets. Platforms like TradeX are crucial to driving growth, improving competitiveness, and fostering a more resilient and connected economy.”
Powered by Finastra’s technology and implemented locally by IFINITY, TxB TradeX will soon be available to HNB’s trade clients. The rollout will be supported by simplified onboarding and comprehensive training to ensure seamless adoption.
