At the Trump National Doral Miami, a large gold-coloured statue of Donald Trump has been installed, drawing attention both for its size and its symbolic design.
The statue, reported to stand around 15 feet tall, depicts Trump with his right fist raised — a pose associated with his appearance following the 2024 assassination attempt in Butler. It has been crafted in bronze and finished with a gold leaf coating, allowing it to reflect strongly in the Florida sunlight. The structure is mounted on a heavy pedestal overlooking the resort’s golf course area.
The artwork was created by Ohio-based sculptor Alan Cottrill, with funding reportedly provided by a cryptocurrency-backed group. Installed within the past few days, the statue has already become a talking point among visitors and online commentators, with some referring to it informally as the “Don Colossus.”
Reactions have been mixed, with supporters viewing it as a tribute, while critics have described it as an exaggerated display. The resort itself is also expected to host major international attention later in the year, including the planned G20 summit, adding further visibility to the site.
