Germany is on track to finalise a major defence agreement with India involving submarine cooperation valued at around $8 billion, according to Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.
Speaking to reporters, Pistorius expressed strong confidence that the agreement would be concluded soon, indicating that the signing could take place within the next three months.
The long-anticipated project has been under negotiation for several months and represents a significant step in strengthening defence ties between the two nations.
The deal is being led by German naval manufacturer Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems in collaboration with Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, highlighting a joint effort in advanced submarine production.
Once finalised, the agreement is expected to boost strategic cooperation and enhance maritime capabilities for India while reinforcing Germany’s position as a key defence partner.
