Richard William Thompson, Chairman of the England and Wales Cricket Board, arrived in Sri Lanka on Monday for an official visit that will span the next two weeks.
Thompson touched down at Bandaranaike International Airport at 8:35 a.m., having travelled from Dubai on Emirates flight EK-650.
Upon arrival, the ECB chief was formally received by representatives of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, underscoring the significance of the visit both in sporting and promotional terms.
During his stay, Thompson is expected to engage in discussions with Sri Lankan cricket administrators and other key stakeholders, with the visit seen as an opportunity to further strengthen ties between English and Sri Lankan cricket. His itinerary is also likely to include meetings focused on bilateral cooperation, development initiatives and the broader growth of the game.
The visit highlights the continuing relationship between the ECB and Sri Lanka Cricket, as both boards look to deepen collaboration on and off the field in the coming years.
