The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has announced that the temporary relief measure allowing petrol vehicle owners to obtain fuel without a QR code will come to an end at midnight on April 18.
Following the conclusion of this concession, the QR-based fuel distribution system will be fully reinstated across the country, according to the CPC.
The corporation explained that the QR-free arrangement was introduced as a short-term solution to ease fuel access for motorists during a specific period. With conditions stabilizing, authorities are now moving back to the regulated system to ensure efficient fuel distribution.
Motorists have been advised to prepare for the transition and comply with the QR-based system once it comes back into effect. The CPC emphasized that adherence to the system will be necessary for a smooth and orderly fuel supply process moving forward.
The reintroduction of the QR system is expected to help maintain better control over fuel distribution while preventing congestion and ensuring fair access for all users.
