The Cinnamon Grand Monthly Medal Tournament for May 2025, held at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC) in Borella, delivered an impressive showcase of amateur golf excellence. Over 260 golfers across various handicap levels teed off in the two-day event, highlighting both emerging talent and veteran precision in one of Sri Lanka’s most anticipated monthly golf competitions.
Division A (Handicap 0–9)
Darshan Veeraraghavan secured the nett title with a score of 71, narrowly edging out Chandana Gunasekara on a better back nine countback, as both golfers posted the same score. On the gross leaderboard, Kumar Danushan emerged victorious with a composed round of 72, demonstrating high-level shot accuracy and consistency on a challenging course.
Division B (Handicap 10–18)
This division saw a commanding performance by Mihindu Chandrasoma, who claimed both the nett (68) and gross (81) titles—an exceptional display of form and fitness. Navin De Silva followed closely in the nett category with a commendable score of 70, earning the runner-up position.
Division C (Handicap 19–28)
The standout performer in Division C was W.K.H. Wegapitiya, who delivered a superb round to win the nett title with 58. Shanik De Silva had an outstanding tournament, finishing second in the nett with 60 and capturing the gross title with a round of 82.
Seniors Division
Veteran golfer Sriantha Rajapakse took top honours in the nett category with a score of 61, followed by Udaya Nawimana with 67. Kumar Boralessa claimed the gross title with a steady round of 85, once again proving his lasting skill and experience in the sport.
Masters Division
In the Masters category, Rohitha Mendis clinched the nett title with 70, winning on countback against Michael Beamish, who posted a solid 74. Amal Cabraal secured the gross title with a round of 91, showcasing enduring strength and accuracy.
Juniors Division
Among the juniors, Nidushka Bandaranaike emerged as the nett winner with 71, edging past Revaan Amarasinghe on countback. The gross title was claimed by Thejas Rathiskanth, who impressed with a strong round of 74.
Ladies Divisions
In the Ladies Silver Division, Dhinuka Boralessa took home both nett (70) and gross (86) titles, while Dr. Praveena Dunuwille was runner-up in the nett category.
In the Ladies Bronze Division, Mavali Weerasinghe won the nett title on countback with a score of 70, narrowly ahead of Kaya Abhayaratne, who later clinched the gross title with a 96.
The Ladies Seniors Division was topped by Neelani Hettiarachchi, who won both nett (73) and gross (105) categories (gross on countback). N. Amarasuriya took the runner-up spot in the nett category.
