Chris Wood Triumphs as Season Winner

England’s Chris Wood has finished the 2025–2026 MENA Golf Tour season at the top of the standings, securing the overall title after leading the final Order of Merit with 59,320 points. His success highlights both the high level of competition on the tour and the United Arab Emirates’s expanding influence in shaping the global golf landscape.

Spain’s Juan Salama claimed second place with 33,050 points, while France’s Pierre Pineau followed in third on 31,532. Wales’ Jack Davidson secured fourth position with 30,355 points at the end of a season that spanned tournaments across Portugal, Egypt and Morocco.

For Wood, the title marks a significant chapter in his career. He recorded three victories in three different countries during the campaign, signaling a strong comeback to competitive form. The English golfer had previously enjoyed success on the DP World Tour and has also represented Europe in the Ryder Cup.

Reflecting on his achievement, Wood said the tour offered the perfect environment to rebuild his game against quality opposition, noting the steady growth of golf on the international stage. His top finish also earns him playing status on the HotelPlanner Tour for the remainder of the 2026 season.

Several standout players from the tour are also expected to feature in upcoming Challenge Tour events hosted in the UAE through partnerships with the Emirates Golf Federation, reinforcing the country’s reputation as a key hub for international sport.

Meanwhile, Keith Waters, Chairman and Commissioner of the tour, praised Wood’s performance, describing it as a testament to his determination and consistency. He also acknowledged the continued backing of the Emirates Golf Federation in supporting players and creating new opportunities within the sport.

Established in 2011, the MENA Golf Tour has grown into a major professional circuit in the region. It remains the only tour in the Middle East to award Official World Golf Ranking points, playing an important role in helping golfers progress to the sport’s top-tier competitions while further elevating the UAE’s presence on the global sporting stage.
