Audi has announced plans to further deepen its partnership with China’s SAIC Motor, focusing on the development of future vehicle generations under a jointly owned brand tailored for the Chinese market.
According to a company statement released on Friday, the two automakers intend to introduce four new models in China over the coming years as part of their expanded collaboration.
The partnership builds on an earlier initiative launched in 2024, when the companies introduced an electric vehicle brand that dropped Audi’s traditional four-ring logo while retaining the Audi name for the Chinese market.
In addition to new model development, Audi and SAIC will also establish a joint innovation and technology centre in Shanghai. The facility is expected to play a key role in advancing automotive technologies and supporting future mobility solutions under their shared brand strategy.
The move highlights Audi’s growing focus on China as a key market, while strengthening its long-term cooperation with SAIC in the competitive electric and smart vehicle segment.
