Angel Reese is Shining like a Diamond at the Met Gala 2024

It’s Angel Reese’s year, and the Met Gala knows it! Angel Reese has slowly risen the ranks as one to watch on the basketball courts, but she is now also leaving her mark in the fashion world making her grand debut at fashion’s biggest night by attending the Met Gala 2024. Reese wore a low v-cut 16Arlington by Marco Capaldo dress with a feathered ballerina styled skirt on the red carpet. The rest of the floor length gown was sheer showing off the star basketball player’s athletic build.

In case you are new to Reese, the the 21-year-old played for two years at LSU and averaged 14.4 rebounds per game, the most in SEC history. On April 3, 2024, Reese officially announced her departure from LSU to enter the WNBA draft. Reece went seventh in the first round of picks and is now a rookie on the Chicago Sky’s team.

Formerly known as the “Bayou Barbie,” Reese has always loved the fashion and beauty space, so her going to the Met Gala 2024 makes all the sense. She notoriously wore voluminous eyelash extensions, a fresh nail set and even stylized her uniform undergarments, often having a Flo-Jo style look with leggings on one leg.

Reese also announced her declaration to the draft with a huge editorial fashion shoot in Vogue, single-handedly changing the ways in which women get to own their narratives in a fashion-forward way. After a wildly successful season last year, Reese ultimately chose to stay another year at LSU instead of declaring for the draft when her fame was first rising, mostly because she knew the NIL opportunities she would get as a college athlete would be financially beneficial. She was proven right, as she now has an ambassadorship with a popular shoe brand, Reebok, and we can expect many more to come now that she’s in the WNBA and walking the infamous Met steps.
