The Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will now take place from September 13 to 18, 2026, instead of its originally planned April dates, the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), part of the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, has announced.
The rescheduling aims to encourage broader international participation while ensuring an enhanced visitor experience.
Recognized as a key platform for publishers, authors, and cultural institutions worldwide, ADIBF relies on strategic timing to attract global stakeholders. According to the ALC, the September dates were set following “in-depth consultations” with international partners, publishing houses, and relevant UAE authorities.
“The discussions considered travel accessibility, international guest participation, and other logistical factors critical to the publishing sector,” said an ALC spokesperson. The new schedule is expected to make the event more inclusive and accessible for both exhibitors and visitors.
Sheikh Zayed Book Award Integration
Organizers also confirmed that the ceremony for the 20th edition of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award will coincide with the September edition of ADIBF. This alignment is expected to further raise the fair’s profile, uniting literary recognition with industry engagement on a single platform.
ADIBF continues to be a highlight of the UAE’s cultural calendar, drawing thousands of attendees annually and reinforcing the country’s position as a hub for knowledge, creativity, and cultural dialogue.
