PM Harini arrives back home after Manila trip

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has returned to Sri Lanka after completing an official visit to Philippines, following an invitation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, she landed at Bandaranaike International Airport on the night of the 11th.

During her visit, PM Harini delivered a keynote address at the International Women’s Day celebration held at the ADB Headquarters in Manila.

On the sidelines of the event, she held bilateral discussions with several Philippine government ministers to enhance cooperation and strengthen diplomatic ties between Sri Lanka and the Philippines across areas of shared interest.

She also met with Masato Kanda, reaffirming the strong partnership between Sri Lanka and the Asian Development Bank.

In addition, the Prime Minister met with Sonny Angara and officials from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Discussions focused on expanding cooperation in education, including teacher training, curriculum development, digital learning, higher education collaboration, research initiatives, and technical and vocational training, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Division.
