Former world No. 3 Milos Raonic has announced his retirement from professional tennis in an emotional social media post, thanking family, coaches, colleagues, and rivals for their support throughout his career. He did not mention whether a farewell tournament is planned.
“The time has come, I am retiring from tennis,” Raonic wrote. “Tennis has been my love and obsession for most of my life.”
The Canadian last played on the tour in mid-2024 at the Queen’s Club Championships and later competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he lost in the first round. Persistent shoulder injuries kept him off the court afterward, and although a 2025 comeback was hoped for, it never happened.
Raonic leaves the sport as one of Canada’s most successful players, remembered for his powerful serve and remarkable run to the Wimbledon final.
