Bihar Sets World Record for Highest List A Team Total

Bihar scripted history by registering the highest team total in List A cricket during its Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025‑26 match against Arunachal Pradesh in Ranchi on Wednesday.

Batting first, Bihar piled up a staggering 574 for 6 in 50 overs, eclipsing the previous List A record of 506 for 2 set by Tamil Nadu against Arunachal Pradesh in the same competition in 2022.

The record‑breaking effort was built on three centuries. Teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the charge with a breathtaking 190, while Ayush Loharuka struck 116 and captain Sakibul Gani added another hundred to complete the onslaught.

Suryavanshi’s knock also made him the youngest centurion in List A cricket. Gani, meanwhile, reached his century in just 32 balls, the fastest hundred by an Indian in the format.
