PM Modi to Join Dussehra 2025 Celebrations in East Delhi’s Patparganj

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the Dussehra celebrations in East Delhi’s Patparganj this Thursday, where he is scheduled to arrive around 6 p.m. The event, organised by the IP Extension Ramlila Committee, will feature the traditional Ravana Dahan ceremony, symbolising the triumph of good over evil.

This will not be the first time the Prime Minister participates in the capital’s Dussehra festivities. In 2023, he joined the celebrations at Dwarka’s DDA ground, where he urged citizens to take ten pledges, including supporting at least one underprivileged family. A year earlier, he attended the Luv Kush Ramlila at Delhi’s Red Fort with President Droupadi Murmu, both of whom set fire to the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran.

At those events, PM Modi highlighted the festival’s timeless values of courage, truth, and peace. He also called on citizens to rise above social evils like casteism and regionalism while emphasising the tradition of shastra pooja, which in India signifies protecting sovereignty rather than aggression.

This year’s celebration in Patparganj is expected to draw a massive crowd, with authorities implementing tight security arrangements to ensure smooth proceedings during the Prime Minister’s visit.
