Daily Mirror Wins ‘Most Popular English Newspaper 2025’ at Global Business Excellence Awards

Colombo – The Daily Mirror was honoured with the prestigious title of ‘Most Popular English Newspaper 2025’ at the Global Business Excellence Awards held at the BMICH this evening.

Accepting the award on behalf of the publication were Editor-in-Chief Jamila Husain and Indika Jayamaha, Head of Advertising and Assistant General Manager at Wijeya Newspapers Ltd.

It was also a night of multiple wins for Wijeya Newspapers Ltd. The Daily Mirror’s sister paper Lankadeepa claimed the title of ‘Most Popular Newspaper 2025’, while Daily FT was named ‘Most Popular Business Newspaper 2025’ at the ceremony.

The event brought together leading figures from the media and business sectors, celebrating outstanding contributions to journalism and public engagement.
