Manly faces a tough task in Magic Round against Brisbane Broncos, who have won four of their last five games.
The Sea Eagles are reeling from back-to-back collapses, blowing a 20-point lead against the Raiders and a 12-point lead in a 30-24 defeat to the Dolphins. They now face the added challenge of playing without Tom Trbojevic, who is sidelined with another hamstring injury. Manly has a poor record of 23-44 when Trbojevic is absent.
Tolu Koula steps in at fullback, with Raymond Tuaimalo Veega on the wing and Tommy Talau at centre. Haumole Olakau’atu returns from suspension.
The Broncos overcame a 40-18 loss to the Roosters by beating the Eels 30-14 last week. Reece Walsh, Ezra Mam, and Deine Mariner continue to shine, with Payne Haas in superb form since his return. Jock Madden will play halfback, and Tyson Smoothy replaces injured hooker Billy Walters.
