Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya departed for the United Kingdom this afternoon (18) to take part in a key international meeting.
She left from Bandaranaike International Airport to attend the Council of Heads of Government gathering of the Commonwealth, where leaders are expected to engage in high-level discussions.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by a small delegation as part of the official visit, according to local reports.
She traveled on a SriLankan Airlines flight UL 403 bound for London, departing at approximately 1:20 p.m.
The visit is expected to conclude later this week, with the delegation scheduled to return to Sri Lanka on May 23 after completing official engagements in the UK.
