Gerald Sathiyasiva, founder of ViralSense, has been named among the Top 20 Rising AI Leaders at the Digital Marketing, Advertising and Technology Excellence Awards held in Malaysia, marking a major achievement for Sri Lanka’s growing tech sector.
He was the only Sri Lankan selected in a competitive lineup featuring innovators from Malaysia, Singapore, India and other Asia-Pacific countries, highlighting the country’s emerging presence in artificial intelligence innovation.
Sri Lanka represented in regional AI innovation
Sathiyasiva’s recognition comes for his work in Emotion AI, a specialised field of artificial intelligence that analyses psychological and emotional triggers behind digital engagement and content performance.
He described the achievement as validation that Sri Lankan innovators can compete at the highest level of applied AI development in Asia.
AI platform built for local market intelligence
His company, ViralSense, focuses on AI-driven content intelligence powered by machine learning models trained on both successful and unsuccessful content across specific industries and regions.
Unlike generic global tools, the system is designed to generate insights based on local consumer behaviour patterns, helping brands better understand engagement in markets such as Sri Lanka.
Strategic expansion and partnerships
The platform has also partnered with Aktivan Group for distribution in Sri Lanka, aiming to expand adoption among local businesses in the digital marketing sector.
The collaboration combines AI technology with local market access to support brands operating in increasingly competitive online environments.
Regional recognition for Sri Lankan innovation
The award places Sathiyasiva among a growing group of Asian AI entrepreneurs and reflects increasing international attention on Sri Lanka’s technology ecosystem.
His work continues to focus on applied AI, digital marketing intelligence, and localized machine learning solutions designed for diverse Asian markets.
