Melbourne hospitality family the Zagames have sold their Toorak mansion for at least $30 million, a $6 million gain in three years.
Tanning mogul Kirstie Kirkham has lodged a caveat on the stylish residence, public records show.
The deal concludes a quiet sale process for vendors Robert and Elizabeth Zagame, who have not undertaken a renovation since they bought the home in 2021 for $24 million from celebrity chef Shannon Bennett, of Vue de Monde, and his former partner, actor Madeleine West.
Marshall White’s Marcus Chiminello handled the sale but declined to comment when contacted.
A sale at that level highlights the ongoing demand in Melbourne’s top-end market, given it last traded for $1 million above the top of its price guide barely a week after being listed.
At that time, high-end buyers were drawn to the home’s extensive renovation, and were looking for more spacious accommodation after spending much of 2020 in lockdown. Interest rates were at record lows and the broader market was soaring.
Three sources with knowledge of the deal but not authorised to comment publicly estimated the most recent sale price at between $30 million and $32 million.
Robert Zagame and his brother, Victor, runs hospitality empire Zagame Corporation, which owns a portfolio of Melbourne venues.
