Sri Lankan wrestler Nethmi Ahinsa continued her impressive rise by securing a bronze medal in the 57kg category at the Under-23 Asian Wrestling Championships in Vietnam.
Ahinsa delivered a dominant performance to defeat Kazakhstan’s Nilufar Raimova 12-4 in the bronze medal bout.
She first captured national attention after claiming a bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games as a teenager. She followed it up with another bronze at the World Junior Championships last year—making her the first Sri Lankan wrestler to achieve these milestones on the international stage.
