President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held discussions today (15) with Johannes Zutt, Vice President for the South Asia Region of the World Bank Group, along with a delegation of World Bank representatives at the Presidential Secretariat.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the World Bank commended Sri Lanka’s ongoing economic programme, acknowledging the government’s efforts to maintain stability while moving towards sustainable growth.
Talks focused on several key areas that could generate short-term economic benefits, including digitalization, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure development. Special attention was also given to development initiatives in the Northern and Eastern Provinces.
President Dissanayake highlighted the government’s commitment to preserving economic stability while strengthening growth, and called on the World Bank to help share Sri Lanka’s political, social, and economic progress with the global community.
