Wooroloo firearm: Police respond to firearm incident, residents urged to stay inside

Residents of an outer Perth suburb have been warned to lock their doors as specialist police respond to a shooting.

Police responding to an incident in which a man was shot at the intersection of Needham Road and Marauba Close, in Wooroloo, approximately 55km east of Perth’s CBD about 9am on Saturday.

Police said he received a gunshot wound during the incident.

A significant police presence is present in the area, including several specialist units.

Residents are advised to remain indoors and keep their doors locked as the situation unfolds.

Police are searching the area for people believed to be involved in the incident.

Paramedics and a rescue helicopter are responding to the man’s injuries.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to police immediately on 000.
