A young toddler has been rushed to hospital after a “near-drowning” incident while swimming at a popular swimming spot in New South Wales’ Central Coast.
Just after 2pm on Saturday, the toddler, who was swimming with her mother, was pulled from the water at Wisemans Ferry.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before a critical care helicopter was enlisted to rush her to hospital.
According to CareFlight, the toddler was flown along with her mum to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead — arriving about 2.30pm.
She remains in a stable condition at the hospital.
Surrounded by national parks, Wisemans Ferry is a small tourist town located about 75km northwest of Sydney.
The historic town is situated on the Hawkesbury River.
