Which states still have government incentives for electric cars?

[ad_1]

The biggest incentive on offer is a $6000 rebate available to those with a household income under $180,000 per year who purchase an EV under $68,000 (including GST) on or after April 21, 2023. You can also claim this rebate if you purchased an EV between March 16, 2022 and April 20, 2023 for under $58,000 (including GST).

For those earning more than a household income of $180,000, you’re still entitled to a $3000 rebate on EVs under $68,000 (including GST) on or after April 21, 2023, or under $58,000 (including GST) between March 16, 2022 and April 20, 2023.

In the ACT, you don’t pay stamp duty on hybrids or electric vehicles purchased after July 1, 2023. Also, until June 30, 2024, you don’t actually pay for registration on a zero-emissions car. While it is getting phased into a new system that will see rego based on emissions, EVs will still see a low rego fee, if any fee at all.
