Early Life and Background
Vinu Udani Siriwardana born on March 10, 1992, is a prominent Sri Lankan actress, model, and TV presenter. She is the second child in her family, with an elder brother named Sanu and a younger sister named Ruvi. Vinu completed her education at Anula Vidyalaya and currently resides in Colombo. In 2020, she married Kasun Liyanage, a lecturer in Economics.
Pageant Success
In 2012, Vinu participated in the “Derana Veet Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World 2012” pageant. She emerged as the joint winner of the title, sharing the honor with Sumudu Prasadini. Initially, Sumudu was the first runner-up, but a subsequent recalculation crowned her as the co-winner. Sumudu went on to represent Sri Lanka at the Miss World 2012 pageant in China on August 18, 2012. Alongside the main title, Vinu also won the ‘Miss Talent’ title and was voted the ‘Sunday Observer Most Popular Contestant.’
Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International
Vinu further showcased her talents on an international stage by representing Sri Lanka at the 18th Miss Tourism Queen of the Year International pageant in Nanjing, China. She competed for the main title as well as the ‘Best in Talent’ and ‘Best National Costume’ mini titles, securing a spot among the top ten finalists for ‘Best in Talent’ and the top 25 for ‘Best National Costume.’
Acting Career
Vinu transitioned into acting with the teledrama Pipena Mal, where she played the supporting role of Parami. Her most notable role came as Tharumalee in the teledrama Tharumalee, a performance that cemented her status as a talented actress. She also starred in the teledrama Wes. In addition to her work in teledramas, Vinu has appeared in several music videos, further showcasing her versatility as a performer.
