Victoria Beckham Receives Paris Honour Amid Family Tensions

Victoria Beckham was honoured in Paris on Monday as France’s culture ministry recognised her impact on fashion and entertainment, marking a high-profile appearance that came amid reports of ongoing family tensions.

The former Spice Girl travelled to the French capital with husband David Beckham and most of their children — excluding eldest son Brooklyn — after attending celebrations for Emma Bunton’s 50th birthday. Victoria was named an Officer of the Order of the Arts and Letters, an award given to individuals who have made notable contributions to French cultural life.

The ceremony was held discreetly following recent public comments by Brooklyn Beckham that highlighted a strained relationship with his parents. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati praised Victoria as a global style icon and commended her distinctive, carefully crafted approach to design.

Beckham has presented her fashion collections in Paris since 2022, further strengthening her ties with the French fashion scene. In her tribute, Dati said Beckham’s career and dedication had helped build a lasting connection between the designer and France.

Footage from the event showed David Beckham and other family members applauding, alongside prominent figures from the fashion industry.

The Order of the Arts and Letters is one of France’s key cultural honours, separate from the country’s highest distinction, the Legion of Honour. David Beckham himself was knighted by King Charles III in November, calling it the proudest moment of his life.
