United Airlines Sells 10 Boeing 737-9 Jets to Dubai Aerospace in $1 Billion+ Leaseback Deal

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd, a top global aviation services company based in the UAE, has struck a major purchase and leaseback deal with United Airlines, acquiring 10 brand-new Boeing 737-9 aircraft. The jets, part of the fuel-efficient 737 MAX family, will be delivered between August 2025 and February 2026, under a long-term lease arrangement with United.

This high-profile transaction significantly strengthens DAE’s footprint in the North American market and expands its already impressive portfolio of over 750 aircraft. It follows a recent similar deal involving an Airbus A321neo leased to United, signaling the Dubai-based lessor’s strategic commitment to modernizing its fleet and deepening global partnerships.

“We are delighted to continue building on our valued relationship with United,” said Firoz Tarapore, CEO of DAE. “This deal reflects our continued commitment to the North American market.”

The Boeing 737-9 aircraft, powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, are designed to offer 20% greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions compared to previous models, while also providing enhanced comfort for passengers. This makes them a smart, eco-conscious choice for both airlines and lessors looking to future-proof their fleets.
