British prosecutors have confirmed the full list of 21 charges authorized against Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, including allegations of rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) stated that the charges were approved in 2024, before an extradition warrant was issued to bring the brothers back from Romania. However, their return can only occur once separate criminal proceedings in Romania are resolved.
Andrew Tate, a 38-year-old influencer and former kickboxer, faces 10 charges connected to three alleged victims. These include accusations of rape, bodily harm, human trafficking, and profiting from controlling prostitution. His brother, Tristan Tate, 36, faces 11 charges linked to one alleged victim, including similar offences.
The Tates, who were born in the US and raised in Luton, UK, have been under investigation in Romania since 2022. They were first arrested there in December 2022 on suspicion of rape and human trafficking. In August 2024, further accusations emerged, including trafficking minors and having sex with an underage individual—allegations both brothers deny.
In March 2024, they were detained in Bucharest following an arrest warrant issued by Bedfordshire Police, which stemmed from UK allegations dating between 2012 and 2015. The Tates, through their legal team, have “categorically rejected all charges,” describing themselves as “very innocent men.”
A Romanian court ruled that the brothers could be extradited to the UK once Romanian cases conclude. They were released from custody, and a two-year travel ban was lifted earlier this year. The brothers left Romania for Florida in February 2025 but returned to Bucharest in March 2025, reportedly to demonstrate compliance with ongoing investigations.
Andrew Tate said he was determined to clear his name in both Romania and the UK, adding that “innocent men don’t run from anything.”
