Tyler Reddick Shines as He Captures Victory in the 68th Running of the Daytona 500

Tyler Reddick Seizes Dramatic Victory in the 2026 Daytona 500

Sometimes, one perfect moment is all it takes. Tyler Reddick led just a single lap in the 2026 Daytona 500—but it was the only one that mattered. With chaos erupting in the closing moments of NASCAR’s most prestigious race, Reddick emerged at the front to capture his first career Daytona 500 victory.

The closing lap delivered classic Daytona drama. As the field surged toward the finish, race leader Carson Hocevar was knocked out of contention following a late crash that reshuffled the order. Reddick, running fourth when the incident unfolded, suddenly found himself with a clear opportunity.

Still, the win was not secured. Entering the final turn, Reddick had to make a decisive move around Chase Elliott. He timed it perfectly, slipping past Elliott and narrowly avoiding another wreck behind him. Help from teammate Riley Herbst proved crucial, as Herbst gave Reddick the space he needed to surge ahead and sprint to the checkered flag.

Reddick’s triumph marked a milestone not only for the driver but also for 23XI Racing, earning the organization its first Daytona 500 win. The team is co-owned by NBA legend Michael Jordan, making the victory even more significant.

Starting the race from 26th position, Reddick stayed patient throughout the 500-mile contest. He avoided major trouble, including the massive multi-car incident known as “The Big One” that eliminated around 20 drivers on Lap 124. That survival proved critical as the race turned unpredictable late.

In the end, Reddick’s lone lap at the front sealed his place in Daytona history. In a race defined by timing, composure, and split-second decisions, he delivered when it counted most—claiming victory in the Great American Race.
