Two children have been found dead inside a Blue Mountains home, while a woman has been arrested.
Police were called to a home at Chapman Parade in Faulconbridge just before 12.40pm on Tuesday following welfare concerns for a woman and two children.
The bodies of two boys, aged nine and 11, were found inside the home by a family member, NSW Police said.
A 42-year-old woman has been transported to Westmead Hospital under police guard in a stable condition, reportedly suffering self-inflicted stab wounds.
Police described the scene as “tragic”.
NSW Police commissioner Karen Webb told reporteres the woman had been arrested.
A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed police are “not looking for anyone else” in relation to the incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
An investigation has been launched into the circumstances of the deaths, with detectives from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad involved in the investigation.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.
