Mark the calendar and check your schedule – former US First Lady Michelle Obama will be speaking publicly in Australia for the first time next year, and tickets go on sale today.
Obama, who was First Lady from 2009 to 2017, has been a prominent advocate for women and girls around the world both during and after her husband Barack Obama’s tenure as US President.
She will front the crowds for two events in Melbourne and one in Sydney on May 19-20 next year.
“In Conversation with Michelle Obama”, presented by Growth Faculty, will explore her career in public service, life in the White House and beyond, as well as the advocacy work she has undertaken to strengthen and support the next generation of leaders.
Her visit coincides with the launch of her new book, The Look; a behind the scenes glimpse of how her most memorable looks came together, but also a story about how people present themselves.
“Michelle Obama is one of the most influential women of our time. As a lawyer, First Lady, mother of two and global role model, her extraordinary story is one that fascinates and inspires people everywhere,” Growth Faculty founder and chief executive Karen Beattie said.
“It’s an incredible honour to bring this exclusive event to Australia, and to be working with Mrs Obama again after a successful event in Singapore in 2019.”
Early access tickets to the two Melbourne talks on May 19, and the one Sydney talk on May 20, go on sale from 9am today on the Growth Faculty website.
