[ad_1]

Three people have died in a horrific crash on a notorious Queensland highway that saw two cars burst into flames.

Five vehicles crashed at the intersection of Bruce Highway and Walker Street in Maryborough West about 10pm on Friday night, with two of the cars involved catching fire.

Two semi-trailers, a dual cab ute, a hatchback and a caravan trailer were involved.

One of the trucks was reported to have been carrying cans of paint, with multiple explosions heard and a fireball seen as the fire spread.

“At least” three people died at the scene, police said, with three others treated for minor injuries.

The horror crash is expected to see the highway closed for some time, as crews investigate the circumstances of the crash and clear the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has any dashcam vision is urged to contact police.
