Tata Motors Introduces Petrol Variants of Harrier and Safari SUVs in India
Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has expanded the lineup of its flagship SUVs by launching petrol-powered versions of the Harrier and Safari in India. Both models are now equipped with the 1.5-litre Hyperion Turbo-GDi petrol engine, with prices starting at ₹12.89 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Harrier and ₹13.29 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Safari.
Hyperion Engine: Power and Performance
The new 1.5-litre petrol engine delivers 170 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque, paired with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission options. Tata says the engine has been developed using AI and ML-based optimization to strike a balance between performance, fuel efficiency, and refinement.
Advanced Technology and Features
Both SUVs boast a 14.5-inch cinematic infotainment display with Samsung Neo QLED technology, complemented by a 10-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos. Other highlights include Vision-X E-IRVM with dual dash cams, clear view dual camera washer, VisionSync memory ORVMs, Intelli-Start with climate sync, ventilated powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and advanced connectivity features.
Safety First: 5-Star Bharat NCAP
All petrol variants of the Harrier and Safari have earned a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. With the addition of the Hyperion petrol engine, the entire Harrier and Safari lineup now meets 5-star safety standards under Bharat NCAP.
