Sri Lanka’s ‘Knights’ Shine as Runners-Up at International Music Contest in India

Sri Lanka’s own musical sensation Knights has proudly clinched the runner-up title at the prestigious ‘Battle of the Bands – International’ held in Mumbai, India.

Making a grand return home this morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport, the band was welcomed with pride and cheer. This year marked the competition’s first-ever inclusion of international acts after three years of exclusively Indian entries. The event was broadcast by Indian state channel Doordarshan, showcasing global talent from countries such as Mauritius, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Singapore, Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Spain, and the UK.

The top prize was claimed by a band from Mauritius.

Knights is made up of talented Sri Lankan artists: Tharindu Nirmana, Danidu Perera, Rukshan Silva, Kavishka Ashan, and Geesara Wijekoon, whose performance stood out among global contenders.
