Sri Lanka’s Janashakthi Insurance buys 25-pct of First Capital

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka’s Janashakthi Insurance plc said it had purchased a 25 percent stake in First Capital Holdings Plc from Janashakthi Limited for LKR 3,754,586,743, on Friday (22).

“Janashakthi Insurance PLC has purchased 101,201,799 ordinary shares at a price of LKR 37.10 per share representing a stake of 25% of the issued shares of First Capital Holdings PLC (FCH),” the company said in a statement on the Colombo Stock Exchange.

“This transaction creates strategic synergies for both Janashakthi Insurance PLC and First Capital Holdings PLC.”
