I was on board Qantas’ brand-new Airbus A321XLR (VH-OGA ‘Great Ocean Road’) and their first-ever passenger flight.
It was an absolute privilege to be part of this historic event where we flew from Sydney to Melbourne and then back to Sydney.
It was an amazing experience doing a sightseeing trip over the Great Ocean Road — the namesake of the aircraft VH-OGA.
What was even better was when I got upgraded to Business Class on this flight.”
The aircraft, named VH-OGA “Great Ocean Road”, marks a new chapter in Qantas’ fleet modernization, offering extended range and improved fuel efficiency. The flight itself was more than a simple domestic service — it included a special sightseeing loop over Victoria’s iconic Great Ocean Road before returning to Sydney.
For aviation enthusiasts like Vajira, the event was a dream come true. His content not only captured the excitement of the historic launch but also gave his viewers a front-row seat to one of the most anticipated fleet additions in Australian aviation.
