The Sri Lanka Singers’ Association has strongly denied false social media rumours claiming that veteran singer Latha Walpola has passed away, confirming that she is alive but currently receiving medical treatment.
The Sri Lanka Singers’ Association has dismissed circulating social media rumours suggesting that legendary Sri Lankan singer Latha Walpola has died.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror, musician Ajantha Peiris, a member of the Sri Lanka Singers’ Association, clarified that the reports are completely false. He confirmed that while Latha Walpola is seriously ill and has sought hospital treatment, she is very much alive.

“She is very much alive,” Peiris stated, urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified and distressing information.

The association has called on social media users to act responsibly and respect the privacy of the veteran artist and her family during this difficult time.
