ECONOMYNEXT – The Colombo Stock Exchange closed down on Thursday, CSE data showed.
The All Share Price Index was down 0.49 percent, or 53.01 points, at 10,783.
The S&P SL20 index was down 0.58 percent, or 18.12 points, at 3,119.
Turnover was at 674 million. Most of this came from the food, beverage and tobacco sector (179 million), and the utilities sector (170 million).
Positive contributors to the ASPI were PGP Glass Ceylon Plc (up at 27.00), Aitken Spence Plc (up at 122.50), and Tokyo Cement Company (Lanka) Plc (up at 47.50).
Most banks’ shares were trading down: Sampath Bank Plc (down at 71.80), Commercial Bank Of Ceylon Plc (down at 93.60), DFCC Bank Plc (down at 80.60). (Colombo/Dec14/2023).
