Sri Lanka welcomed a record number of tourists in February 2026, with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority reporting a total of 279,328 arrivals.
This figure represents the highest monthly visitor count in the country’s history and reflects a 16.2% increase compared with February 2025. The busiest day of the month was February 12, when 12,731 tourists arrived.
India led the list of top sources, contributing 47,679 visitors, followed by the United Kingdom with 30,788, Russia with 23,099, and Germany with 22,566 arrivals, highlighting Sri Lanka’s continued appeal to a diverse range of international travelers.
