All Sri Lankan cricketers participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament have arrived in Sri Lanka to process their visas for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup which will kick off in June.
Accordingly, Matheesha Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, and Nuwan Thushara have arrived in Colombo to process their visa for the USA.
The cricketers faced their visa interviews in Colombo today, but it is unclear when they will return to their IPL franchises to continue their participation in the tournament.
It is expected that the cricketers are likely to return to their IPL franchises after having received their US visas for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Sri Lanka Cricket is set to commence preparations for the World Cup by starting a 3-team T20 practice tournament today.
Three teams, namely Yellow headed by Wanindu Hasaranga, Green by Janith Liyanage, and Red by Charith Asalanka, will take part in the preparation tournament.
All matches will be played at the R Premadasa stadium in Colombo from 07.00 PM. (Newswire)
