We are delighted to share the inspiring news about fellow Bridgetine, Shanika Amarasekara, who serves on the Board of the British Business Bank as General Counsel.
Shanika has been awarded the prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) title in Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday Honours List 2020, in recognition of her outstanding work in launching the Future Fund scheme. This initiative was introduced to support innovative UK businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis, particularly those that rely on equity backing for growth.
The Future Fund plays a crucial role in helping businesses continue with their plans during uncertain times, ensuring they are not held back by funding constraints.
Shanika’s journey is a proud moment for the Bridgetine community. She was the Head Prefect at St. Bridget’s Convent in 1994, and her remarkable achievements reflect the school’s enduring tradition of excellence and leadership.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Shanika on this well-deserved honour. Your contribution is an inspiration to all Bridgetines worldwide.
