In the vibrant halls of Haileybury College in Keysborough, a young leader emerges, his name resonating with promise and determination – Senon Kumarasinghe. Amidst the rigors of year 11 studies, Senon is not only excelling academically but also leaving an indelible mark in the realms of athletics & soccer. Recently, Senon was recognized and presented with the Moris Brown Medal for his outstanding Athletic Achievements.
As the representative of Haileybury at the UN Youth Conference from March 1st to 3rd in Victoria, Senon showcased his leadership on a broader stage. In addition to his local initiatives, Senon also represents Sri Lanka on the global stage, debating democracy at UN conference, further cementing his status as a leader with a global perspective.
His journey to greatness is not solitary; it’s a testament to the unwavering support and guidance of his proud parents, Sam Kumarasinghe and Vindya Udawatta. Their belief in Senon’s potential has fueled his passion and drive to pursue excellence in every endeavor he undertakes.
But it’s Senon’s natural aptitude for leadership that truly sets him apart. His ability to inspire and motivate others is evident on and off the field, earning him admiration and respect from his peers and mentors alike.
At the age of 4, Senon embarked on a journey of philanthropy, starting with giving up his birthday party to raise funds for a child with a brain tumor in Melbourne. Over the years, he has funded construction of houses for families in need living in Sri Lanka, provided hospital equipment,supported underprivileged rural school children with stationery and uniform and also raised funds for solar panels to kids in need of electricity for thier studies.
As he navigates the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, Senon Kumarasinghe stands as a beacon of hope for the youth of today – a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and leadership in shaping a brighter tomorrow.
