Scott Adams Dies at 68 After Cancer Battle

Scott Adams, creator of the iconic “Dilbert” comic strip, has died at 68, his former wife confirmed on Tuesday. Adams had publicly shared in 2024 that he was battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

The news of his passing was revealed by ex-wife Shelly Miles during a live broadcast of Adams’ YouTube program Real Coffee with Scott Adams. She also read a final message he had prepared, in which he reflected on having “an amazing life,” encouraged others to “be useful,” and expressed love for his audience.

Adams had earlier disclosed that his cancer had spread to his bones, drawing parallels to President Biden’s diagnosis at the time.

Following news of his death, former President Donald Trump paid tribute on Truth Social, calling Adams “a fantastic guy” who “bravely fought a long battle” and extended condolences to his family and fans.

Adams rose to fame in 1989 with Dilbert, a workplace satire that became a global hit across newspapers for more than three decades. However, the strip was widely dropped in 2023 after Adams made controversial remarks that were widely condemned as racist, leading multiple media organizations and syndicates to sever ties.

In his final message, Adams said he wanted people to understand his life journey — from striving to be a good partner and parent, to later dedicating himself to writing and sharing ideas he believed could help others.
