After four remarkable seasons with Casey South Melbourne Cricket Club, leg-spinning all-rounder Ruwantha “Ruwy” Kellapotha is set to begin a new chapter in Tasmania, signing with the University of Tasmania for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
During his time with the Swans, Ruwy proved himself as a force to be reckoned with — becoming a multiple-time Club Champion, leading wicket-taker in Premier Cricket last season, and a reliable match-winner with both bat and ball.
His incredible performances earned him spots with Victoria and the Melbourne Renegades, highlighting the high level he consistently performed at.
More than his stats, Ruwy’s influence stretched across the team, offering energy, leadership, and professionalism on and off the field. While his departure is a big loss, the club is proud of his journey and looks forward to seeing him achieve even greater heights.
All the best, Ruwy — once a Swan, always a Swan. 🦢❤️🤍
