Ramadan 2026: UAE Announces Official Work Timings for Private Companies

The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has announced that private sector employees will benefit from a reduced work schedule during the holy month of Ramadan, with the official working day shortened by two hours.

To further support staff, companies are permitted to introduce flexible or remote working arrangements, depending on the nature of their business operations. These adjustments are designed to help employees manage their work commitments while observing fasting, ensuring a balance between productivity and well-being.

The ministry emphasized that these measures are part of the UAE’s ongoing efforts to foster a supportive work environment during Ramadan, recognizing the importance of both spiritual observance and maintaining efficient business operations. Employers are encouraged to communicate clearly with their teams about the revised schedules and any flexibility options to ensure a smooth workflow throughout the month.
