Probe Underway After Two Students Fall to Death from Altair Apartments in Colombo

A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday evening when two students, a male and female, both aged 15, fell to their deaths from the 67th floor of the Altair apartments building in Kompanna Veediya, Colombo. The students, who were classmates at the Colombo International School, are suspected to have committed suicide.

The police identified the deceased as residents of Wellawatta and Kelaniya. Preliminary investigations revealed that both students attended a party at the Altair apartments after school hours, with approximately 100 students reportedly in attendance.

Investigations indicate that the two students jumped from the 67th floor, and their bodies were found on the 3rd floor. The police discovered their shoes on the 67th floor, further supporting the suspicion of suicide.

The bodies have been sent to the Colombo National Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The Kompanna Veediya police are actively investigating the incident to gather more information and understand the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
