President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to depart for India tomorrow (17) to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi.
The invitation to the summit was extended by Narendra Modi, under whose patronage the event will be held. The summit aims to highlight the responsible development and application of artificial intelligence to benefit humanity.
According to the President’s Media Division, President Dissanayake is expected to deliver a keynote address on February 19. The five-day gathering will bring together leaders from 20 countries, along with representatives from over 45 nations, creating a platform for global dialogue on AI’s future.
Key discussions will explore how artificial intelligence can be harnessed to tackle pressing global challenges and shape the technological landscape of the future.
In addition to summit activities, President Dissanayake is also anticipated to engage in bilateral talks with Narendra Modi and other international leaders, strengthening diplomatic and technological cooperation between Sri Lanka and participating nations.
