An Air India Express flight from India, carrying 138 passengers, crash-landed at Phuket International Airport after experiencing a landing gear malfunction, according to media reports.
The aircraft reportedly struck the runway forcefully as the landing wheels failed to deploy correctly, causing damage to part of the plane’s structure. Airport authorities temporarily closed the runway while emergency teams rushed to assist passengers and secure the area.
Despite the dramatic landing, all 138 passengers survived, and initial reports indicate that no serious injuries occurred.
Officials have launched a formal investigation to determine the cause of the landing gear failure. Airport operations were briefly disrupted while crews cleared the runway and inspected the aircraft for damage.
