Former Sri Lanka and Ceylonese Rugby & Football Club (CR & FC) captain Pavithra Fernando has been elected as the new President of Sri Lanka Rugby (SLR).
The election took place during the Annual General Meeting of Sri Lanka Rugby, held at the Duncan White Auditorium within the Sports Ministry complex earlier today.
Fernando, a well-respected figure in Sri Lankan rugby, brings years of on-field experience and leadership to the national governing body. His appointment marks a new chapter for Sri Lanka Rugby, as the sport looks to strengthen its local and international presence.
The newly elected office bearers for the 2025/2026 term are as follows:

Deputy President: Shanitha Fernando
Vice President: Chinthaka Perera
General Secretary: Subash Jayatilaka
Treasurer: Neomal Ekanayake
Female Representative: Thilini Rangani
Athlete Representative: Stephan Gregory
