Over 20 Indian nationals arrested in online gambling racket

Twenty-one Indian nationals were arrested in connection with an online gambling racket, following a raid by officers from the Investigation Division of the Department of Immigration and Emigration.

According to the department, the suspects had entered Sri Lanka on tourist visas but overstayed illegally. They were operating the racket from a residence in the Kirulapone area.

Their arrest followed an investigation by the Risk Assessment Unit, which uncovered their activities through data analysis.

Authorities confirmed that all suspects are aged between 22 and 36.
